The ALBORADA Trust was founded on 1st October 2001 and is named for the great racemare ALBORADA, twice winner of Newmarket’s Champion Stakes, Group 1. ALBORADA was officially rated the Champion Three-Year-Old Filly of the World in 1998.
The Charity’s aims include the funding of veterinary causes in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with activities primarily devoted to the welfare of animals and/or in their associated research.
The ALBORADA Trust also assists with projects throughout the world associated with the relief of poverty, human suffering, sickness or ill health and it is also active in the advancement of education.
The Trustees’ funds are fully committed and unsolicited applications are not requested.
The Trustees will donate the annual available income to approved charities and prefer to support donations to Charities whose work they have researched and which is in accordance with the aims and objectives of the Charity for the year.
The Trustees request regular updates from donees to provide details of how the donations have been allocated and spent. Grants are only continued where the applicant provides sufficient relevant information to the Trustees and satisfies the Trustees that continuation of funding is in the interests of the Charity and its aims and objectives.
